- We advised the family to set up a new investment entity specifically for its manufacturing investments.
- The family office had previously invested in a mish-mash of deals, and the market was confused about the type of opportunities it was looking to attract.
- We created a standalone brand for the new investment entity, focussing its name and branding exclusively on manufacturing opportunities.
Digital footprint
- We created, designed, and launched a new website for the new investment entity.
- We drafted content for the website that focussed on the type, scale, and nature of the manufacturing entities that the family office was looking to invest in.
- We launched a dedicated Impact page on the new investment entity's website, outlining the family office's commitment to ethical turnaround conduct.
Media and stakeholder mapping
- We launched the new investment entity in the manufacturing and European business press with in excess of 10 pieces of careful, controlled media coverage.
- We undertook a stakeholder mapping exercise to identify the shareholders of all appropriately-sized manufacturing firms in the UK that may be amenable to approaches.
- We prepared a printed case study for the new investment entity, showcasing how the family office has previously successfully acquired and turned around a manufacturing firm.
- The case study was distributed by post to all key individuals identified in the stakeholder mapping exercise.
Result
- The family office was approached by in excess of 15 high-quality investment opportunities.
- This, ultimately, led to the family office acquiring three manufacturing firm over the coming 18 months as turnaround opportunities.
- The activity also led to another private investor approaching the family office, with a view to doing a co-investment deal worth £75 million.
