London-based Transmission Private has been appointed by a US-based single-family office to handle its global public relations on a retained basis. The firm will be responsible for managing the family office’s public and media profile on a worldwide basis, as well as leading a new digital strategy to selectively raise the family office’s profile online to secure more deal flow.
The New York-based family office, which manages in excess of $1.5 billion, was established by a retail entrepreneur, but now invests principally in technology, real estate, and agriculture.
The communications brief also covers the philanthropic arm of the family office, which supports children, community, and environmental causes, and has an annual expenditure of $2 million.
Transmission Private was appointed following a competitive pitch to design, launch, and maintain a new online presence for the family office and its allied foundation.
The account will be run by Luke Thompson, a Partner and Head of Client Services at Transmission Private, supported by a wider team of three.
Transmission Private was established in 2014, and has since carved out a niche providing communications services to family offices as well as successful individuals.
Luke Thompson, Partner at Transmission Private, said: “I was impressed by the Principal’s forward-thinking approach to communications. He really understands the increasing importance that reputation, and especially digital reputation, plays in investment and co-investment decisions.
“I look forward to working alongside all members of the family to give selective, careful voice to their mission, purpose, and values amongst the right stakeholders.”
